I am getting ready to replace the tires on my 2000 eddie bauer. My local dealer here next to me can get me a good deal on Cooper H/T LT265/70r17. Does any one or has anyone ran the H/T's on anything and can you give me any insight on these tires? Thanks, looking to get this done on Friday. So I need to know, Thanks, Brian
If you are talking about the Discoverer H/T, I have used these on the Expy in the past, and had their Lifeliner line on several cars in the past. i have had no problems with any of my Cooper tires. Quiet, great ride, great traction, and good life as long as rotated regularly and alignment is right. Never had any balance issues like some tires.
OTOH, my next set for the Expy will be Toyo Open Country H/T's (currently has Goodyear Wranglers thanks to my ex-wife - I bought my Expy back from her :P). I have these Toyos on my wife's Explorer, and absolutely LOVE them.
Cooper's been around a long time and have excellent tires. They also make a lot of the off-brand name tires you see on the road. I think you'll be very pleased with the H/T's on your Expy. Let us know how you make out.
I've also had really good luck with Coopers, have had a couple different models of Discoverers on trucks and LifeLiners on cars. Had a set of the H/Ts on our 2000 Expy, had no problems with them at all. Also had the H/Ts on the Bronco till the lift kit, worked real well on road, but not the best for much offroading.
