I recently took my 2007 F150 in for service when the 4x4 hi light didnt come on. Dealer replaced IWE Solenoid and everything is fine. Truck has 42,000 miles on it. Is this something that should be covered under the powertrain warranty? Dealer said no and charged me $100 ,which is deductible on extended warranty. I am waiting for a call from the service manager to see what he says. Was Christmas eve when I went in and I didnt feel like raising to big a stink.

 

The Powertrain is for the hubs, axles, t-case, tranny, motor

it doesn't cover electronics...only the mechanical bits



although, that solenoid is cheap...like $20 cheap for the "improved" version. You may want to see the actual invoice and get your charges adjusted
