When I bought my 06' I didn't buy the extended warranty because why buy it and have all that interest added to it when it would be better just to buy it later when needed. So my question for everyone out there is.....what is the best way to go....I get letters in the mail almost every other day wanting to sell me the warranty.....more than likely it will be the FORD warranty that I buy just because I don't wanna have any complications when I bring it in for service. Wanted to see what everyone else has done when it came down to buying the extended warranty.....also does anyone know how much it will cost whenever I decide to buy this warranty.....???
I have bought many new vehicles over the years, I never buy the extened warrany, haven't gotten burned yet.......
When I get close to the 3 year / 36,000 mile limit you should know by now if it is a good truck or not, then you can decide if you need it or not....

Yep I agree........but that is my problem.....I have had problems with the A/C.....and the 4X4....and both of those could become expensive without some kind of warranty.....so that is why I'm gonna get the extended warranty for my truck.
Well, I bought an ESP and it paid off at 74,000+ just short of its 75k limit with a new trans. Oh, it had already paid off with a 50k rear axle fix due to the spotty quality of Fords bearing supplier.
I paid almost $1700 in '98 for it. Expect your price to be somewhat higher.
I just passed on one for my kraut go cart, they wanted $4800 for coverage to 100k, $2800 for 75k I think. I don't really remember as I was gasping as the paramedics carted me out. Even our Lexus was only $2200 or so....but again, we passed due to the economics surrounding the car. (inherited, we can throw some money at it if it needs it which it won't because it's a Lexus, or so I'm told......)
Your results may vary. See your Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealer today!
And buy the ESP, NOT ANY THIRD PARTY SERVICE AGREEMENT.
I buy them and have used them. It's kind of like coming into the dealership with an unlimited credit card. They know you can go anywhere you want to and are glad you are there. They check everything out and make sure everything is up to snuff with the assurance that they won't have to wait around for you to decide if you can come up with the money to fix something or try to get them to do a half assed fix. I always feel like I get priority service when I go in. I don't care, it's pre-paid at that point.
Call Greenfield Ford and ask for Troy at 413 773 5455. I shopped around and got quotes. I wanted a 5yr 75k ESP Ford warrenty for my 2007 KR Screw. These guys were about half the price of the Ford dealer where I bought my truck. I paid about $760 for the warrenty. Good luck.

So my question on this is: If I live in Texas how is that gonna work out with me buying the warranty from Massachusetts.....??

Your buying a Ford ESP Warranty which is good in all 50 states at all Ford Dealers. It doesn't matter which dealer sells you the plan, it's all managed through Ford ESP.
I live in Texas too and the last one I purchased was from a dealer in Iowa...it's all done over the phone. When you go to your local dealer and tell them you have ESP they verify your vin # at a special ESP website.
I live in Florida and I was able to buy the warrenty. It is a Ford warrenty and they can sell anywhere in the US. I faxed them my registration and mileage info then they took my credit card over the phone. About a week later I got the paperwork in the mail. It was real easy.
OK but what if, as in my case, I did not buy the ESP when i bought the 06 truck just a few miles short of 36K. Thought I'd get around to it and i didn't. Now, at just over 37K I'd like to get one but Ford won't sell it. Has anyone had a good experience with ANY 3rd party warranty??
Thats all I needed to know....thanks for the info.

Does it cost more if you wait a year or two and get it (before you hit 36 K of course) or does it go up based on age of vehicle ? I have a 2007 KR. Thanks
I had emailed Troy through his website and got these emails and exchanges. Troy wasn't able to beat the local dealer by much, but his service was great.
Damion,
Sure, the 7 yr / 100K would be $2280.00, and the 6 yr / 100K would be $1710.00.....still PremiumCARE with the $100 deductible.

I was a bit confused with the site.
Yes I want the best coverage (Premium Care) for the longest term. I was looking at a 7/100K or a 6/100K.
Can you send a quote for those. Again F150 4x4 XLT Screw 6.5-ft bed 26K miles
I like your quote for 6/75K, but was hoping top get 100K coverage.
Thanks,

Hi Damion,
You didnt' mention which plan or terms you wanted the quote for, so here is
an example....
I can do a PremiumCARE 6 yr / 75,000 mile plan with the standard $100
deductible for $1095.00 on F150 4x4's. I went with that plan because
I think it's one of the best values in terms of pricing and it effectively doubles
the coverage from the factory 3/36K warranty.
Here is the basic purchase info if / when you decide to purchase.
I would need you to mail, fax, or scan/email me an original signed letter
indicating the exact current mileage on your vehicle, and a copy of your
current registration.(If you are in a state where you don't get your state
registration right away, I can also use a copy of the bill of sale, purchase
contract, or some other official document which shows the owners name
and address, along with the vehicles VIN)
Sorry, I know its a little inconvenient, but its the only way we could come
up to cover ourselves on the mileage and VIN verification. After I receive
your letter, I can call you for credit card info, if that's how you choose
to pay, or you can include a check, money order, or the credit card info
with it. Also, make sure that the registration copy is legible (I have
gotten a couple of them recently that I couldn't read or had part of the VIN
chopped off on the copy).

I believe the price is lower in the first year or under 12K miles. Troy can confirm and give you the prices.
