I would like to know how to reset the keyless entry modules (sometimes called "FOBs") for my 1999 F-150. (Dropped a keychain in the lake). I purchased a replacement last summer. The owners manual describes how to reprogram or program new keys, but not the keyless entry modules. I know it is not that hard and just can't bring myself to pay the dealership $50 - $70 to do this 5 minute exercise. On the other hand, I paid for the convenience and would like to use it!
I owned a 95 F-150 with an alarm. I looked under the dash and found the alarm / keyless entry module. On its case I found a 800 number that I called and they told me how to program the modules.
(Conincidently, a dealership had given me an incorrect replacement module. He gave me the correct part number. I got one and programmed the new module plus the one I already had in about 5 minutes.)
I have been unsuccessful finding any phone numbers on my new truck and have looked on the web for these instructions.
Any help would be appreciated - Instructions, phone number, or web page.
