I'm going to swing by there tomorrow during the day and get a look at it. If it was pot metal, then I could see it, but that things like 3" diameter, or bigger, isn't it?

ran the motor for about 30 minutes at idle during the cam breakin period and the mother f'ing drivers head split...metal fatigue is weird stuff

Yay!! Engine is on its way up from Denver, and the dealership is saying I'll have my truck back by COB tomorrow. (New Years Eve) Ford gave the authorization this morning, so I won't be stuck driving this Edge (which is pretty frickin' nice) all weekend.

Wow, COB of tomorrow? Sounds really quick to me, must be slow on business with extra techs working on this project. Glad to hear they found the problem and are taking care of you.

On the Edge side, they are nice, but when I drove one for a while, the ergonomics and windshield shape felt off compared to my 150.

Now you've got some good things to say about Denver.

They had the old one out when I stopped by about an hour ago. All they have to do is swap the alternator, intake, and stab it according to the service manager. He said it might be done tonight, but not to hold my breath. I guess they're pretty easy to pull and place? I have no idea.

Nice thing about Denver?...hmmm...Jay Cutler is the Chargers favorite quarterback.

Yes, the windshield in the Edge is weird. and the A-Pillar blocks a lot of area I'd like to see! Nice interior though, good mileage, and it's pretty quick. Good ride also.

Off topic, but bet you'll love this. The Broncos just canned Shannahan.

It's an Edge (it didn't cause it) and the weather was in the 50's.

I saw that. He needed to go, IMHO. He should have left 2 seasons ago.

Hey ChargerFan, I am still amazed about your truck, has anybody from the service dept offered up a opinion on how a 300 hp factory engine could twist a crank in half! I'm the original owner of my 442. It has a 455 that has seen it's share of abuse and this is a 39 year old motor that has only had a valve and ring job! Sorry if I sounded dubious when you first posted your dillema but all I can say is WOW!

well since it happened with less than 10000 miles on it, i'm going to say it was a manufacturing defect.....

They're clueless as to what happened, as am I. It had to be something in the manufacturing process. I'm just glad it didn't let go when I when I was way up in the mountains. When it popped and died, I was going a steady 30mph, and wasn't even on the gas. THAT makes my brain ache when I try to figure it out.
