Do you mulch it all at once? I can't even get my mower to eat through the layers of leaves. It doesn't matter if I try it every other week it still ends up acting more like a plow than a mower.
It probably doesn't help that I'm using an old fixed deck Bobcat Ransomes wb but I still can't see the leaves all getting mulched up that much. Maybe I'll try mulching next year if I get a Wright Stander RH w/mulching baffles. That depends on if I get a mowing contract.
Big motor and gator blades work good for shredding leaves.
I do agree that it sometimes can be too much to where you have to rake them up.
Sometimes we'll chop them some and then toss the catcher on....cuts down on the total volume that we haul away.

From what I've heard and read Gators are over-rated. A lot of guys I know of like to run exmark mulchers. Or if you've got the HP and don't care about any warranty run doubles of hi-lifts/mulchers.
I need some help. I'm going Tuesday to pick up the newest addition to our family, and I can't decide on a name.
I've got a few in mind. Garrett is one possibility. Another is Poncho, in memory of my buddy who moved back to Mexico this month. I've also thought about Jed. But I'm sure for the 1st month or so I'll probably call him dam*it.lol What do y'all think?
I notice a big difference between gators and a regular blade....been years since I've used a high rise for comparison. All my guys ask for the gators as soon as the leaves start to fall.
I have the HP as I like to run 19hp Kaw KAIs on 48" Decks, and 21-25hp on 52" Hydro WBs. ZTRs have 23 Kaws, but when they go they'll most likely get the 37hp Kaw.
I demo'd a Bobcat 61" ZTR with a 37hp Kaw this year, that thing was a monster.
