Dumb question #1 - Hook thing on dash

I know, there's usually no dumb questions but this may be an exception. Actually, I have a few more like the following so I thought it would be a good idea to number them.

What is the purpose of the plastic hook on the dash just below the cup holder pull-out? It has a couple of indentations on either side below that seems to go along with it. My wife hung a garbage bag on it for the time being but I told her it had to be for a more sophisticated accessory than a plastic bag.

yup its a plastic bag since people in work trucks all day tend to create more trash than the little ashtray/trashbin can hold. Unfortunately its nothing exciting.

Nah, just proved to me what I already knew. My wife is smarter than me. Dang ... so that's it.

Actually, I was thinkin' in the direction of a $200 accessory that clips on it that you could only buy from a Ford dealer's parts department. Looks like I'm ahead on this one.

I use it to drape hard-wired wires over when the appliance is not present.
I guess you could jam a notepad in there.

I still think "pantie hook" is the best use.

I plead guilty but in my defense it's not in the Owner's Manual, which I read. Do you search here for "hook thingy"?

Totally understand, just messin' with how often the oddball things about these trucks come up.

You mean this search for hook?
It has befuddled many of us!!

Dash hook is the proper term I think.

They also n eed to put in the manual all the uses for the pockets on the underside of the center seat armrest thing.

The last thread I remember with the moose and panties was hilarious though.

It's to hang your wife's thongs on to dry out on those long trips.
