alright just installed my pyrometer gauge and it doesn't work every time i touch the throttle it goes strait to zero but if i let it idle it goes to 400 and sit for a couple of seconds and then starts shaking and eventually stops working all together and stays at zero until i shut the truck off then when i turn the truck back on it will read what the temp it but once i touch the throttle the same thing happens goes strait back to zero soooo help please no idea whats going on
I would check the 12V feed and ground. Lots of places under the dash tha you think would be a good ground, isn't. Make sure your feed voltage is not from a source that varies like the dash dimmer etc. If you dont have acess to a meter run a couple wires straight to the battery, that way you will know if you have gauge or connection problems.
so we ran i line to a spar battery that we had in the garage and hooked it up to that and the gauge steadied but then when we went and hooked up the the truck battery it started shaking again so then we unplugged the alternator and the gauge steadied again we checked the charging circuit and everything was fine so what can i do to make it so the alternator doesn't make this happen??
