Well my beast has been agruing with me when I try to start it in colder temps without plugging it in first. New batteries, checked OHMs across the relay...all OK. So....It is glow plug time. BUT!!! I do remember that back in January, there was a thread that sent everyone in a mad dash for their local Autozone for the ZD-11 glow plugs for .01 a piece. Well back then, I am thinking... "Nawwww My truck starts just fine. I don't need to get any."
CRAP!!! Now I need em. Sooooooooo....Does anyone still have extras they wanna sell? I figured that since I have already two replacement parts from here from a couple of sympathetic members in the past....I would try again.
I picked up a set of zd-11 off ebay for 60 + shipping. Did you ohm out your glow plug terminals at the valve cover. I would also make sure the voltage on the second large post comes on with the key. You probably already know this stuff but you never know.
Nope...I haven't done that...I have checked a few other things but I did miss that. I'll check that as well...But I still suspect my GPs since the truck has 203K on the Odometer.
I thought the same thing back when that all happened but luckly I changed my mind and Rick (miller_feed) sent me some and I will put them in when I change my injector.

Yea...hind sight is 20/20 but I must of been blind at the time.
I did my glow plugs a while back for hard start when cold. On my passenger side two of the glow plugs were infinite and turn out the UVC came partially unplugged. I only had one bad one on my drivers side at 165k. Do you get a lot of white smoke on cold starts? This indicates unburned fuel/glow plugs.
Oh yes...plenty of smoke when trying to start it....That was also another thing that was telling me the glow plugs were not heating enough to burn the fuel.
Not quite that much...First...it cranks a bit faster, acts like it is going to catch but doesn't. When it does finally catch and run, the smoke is no where near that much and goes away after about 30 seconds.
I would get a video of it in the morning, but I have to go and get hay for my horses and I don't want to go and unplug it...it is supposed to be only about 5 degrees tonight. Maybe after..when it cools down and I don't have to worry about it starting right away.
I know you said you ohmed the gpr, but did you measure the voltage difference accross the two large terminals while the gpr is on? That is the most important thing to know about your gpr. You want as little as possible voltage drop accross those two terminals. BTW, do you have an OEM gpr or the stancor?
