i just bought four new speakers for my truck.. they are 4ohm speakers... what is the ohm of my in dash head unit.. It does not have DNR on the cassette tape door.. what ohm does it need to be to work with the 4ohm speakers.. does it have to match, or can it below or under or what?
any speaker you install in teh truck will work, the old speakers may be labled, i'm not sure what the rating was offhand, i dont even think the manuals tell you
i dont beleive that any speaker will work.. my bro and i just put in 2 ohm speakers in his truck with a 4 ohm head unit and it burnt up the head unit..
the 2 ohm speakers require an external amp, stock radios cant handle them. the lower the ohm's of the speaker the more amps they flow. works just like your run-of-the-mill electrical circuit.
For a little extra money id splurge for a new head unit with ipod hookup. Any aftermarket head unit no matter how cheap will power those speakers better than the way outdated stock one
i dont have any "extra money" right now.. no one has answered my question.. im trying to make the stuff i have right now work.. not go out and spend money i dont have ..
what is the ohm of the stock cassette head unit?
if the ohms dont match up, then im not going to go buy a head unit to fit.. I am going to go back to the store and exchange the speakers for free to match the head unit already in my truck.
Those speakers will be fine in your truck. Though I cant answer your direct question I put 4 ohm speackers in my 93 f150 I had with the stock cassette player for about 6 months before I got an aftermartket cd player. You should be good to go.
Im not trying to bust your ***** here im just trying to tell you that your not gona see much of a difference even if you were to put the best speakers in the world in there with that stock head unit or an amp to power the speakers because there is only so much the head unit can put out
no busting to my ***** taken.. when i get the money, i will eventually put in a head unit.. BUT UNTIL then, i gotta make it work the way it is.. isnt pay check by pay check fun? haha
Yeh i hear ya. I just installed 4 new speakers a 4 channel amp for them and a 500watt sub amp but havent installed a sub yet because of lack of money. It sounds good but i know how good it can sound but having it run on half quality kills me!
