Flathead rebuilders

I am needing a flathead 6 rebuilt (230 Chrysler) and am looking for any recommendations. I have talked to Northside Rebuilders in P.A. and Precise in S'toon, both seemed okay on the phone. Anyone know of a must talk to guy, any tricks for flatheads..............opinions and suggestions starting....NOW

For the extra drive I would probably take it to the guys in saskatoon too.

I never got a good vibe when I talked to northside about getting an engine done a few years ago, but thats JMO too.

Northside used to be excellent but I haven`t been there for a long time.
I`ve heard that Precise was ok too but I`ve never taken anything there.
There`s a small engine machine shop in Martinsville who`s got a stroked and poked full custom 56 F100 that seems ok.
Not much to these simple flat 6`s so I wouldn`t worry about special tricks. There`s a used one for sale, I think it`s a Chrysler?, a 251 Flathead industrial Engine/$500 out of a 1950 Bombardier in Nipawin, Kijiji Saskatoon:

Not off the top on my head, I never did catch the name.
I did find a shop in the yellow pages under ''Engines Rebuilding & Exchanging'' called Warman Automotive Rebuilders & Machining-933-3141.
I think this is correct, they were in Warman and I heard they moved to Martinsville.

Good point, I forgot all about Continental engines......
Used in earlier Massey Harris tractors?
I still think a slant 6 would be cool if there`s room, there tons of them in old swathers & some in afew combines, they seem to go forever.

I had met that fella from Martinsville or Warman 2 summers ago and each summer since. He does have a nice Purple 56 F100. I have tried several times to call his shop but no answer, if i take the engine there i want to be avle to talk to a guy when i need to.
Northside is made up of the old Hackle's employees.

Northside I had them do a head for me. They charged me way too much.
I deal with Warman Rebuilders. They are just off highway 11 where the south turn into Warman is. They have ahd experience with those old Plymouth 6 cyl. They done lots of older engines. They use to do the work on their farm out of an old garage barn. Move to new shop and built it with overhead booms. They are the Unrah boys. They have other jobs still and if you call inthe evenings they are usually home to answer or return your calls. They have always done so with me. They do good work and anything I have had them do is either still going strong or was going strong when I sold the vehilce.
I give them 2 thumbs up.

It would look to be aover $2000.00 When they rebuilt my 300 it cost 1800.00 and years ago they did my slant 6 for my plymouth and it cost $1200, but that was in 2001.
They are usually cheaper than the city shops. Their overhead is less than in the city.

Check it out but usually it`s cheaper to get an exchange engine rather than a getting your own rebuilt though you might not get the same quality of internal parts.
