How many using coolant filter?
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts

Here's a few pics of my recent install of both an AMSOIL by-pass oil filter kit and a Dieselsite Coolant by-pass filtration kit.
My truck is a recently purchased 2004 Ford Excursion Limited 4x4 6.0ltr. Here's an overall view of the project from under the hood...

Here's a couple of shots of the the bracket I made to install the filters together. I used 1 1/4" Aluminum "L" purchased from the big orange box (48" piece) and cut to install using the stock Alternator mounting bolts.

<hr size=4 width="80%">
It's a little tight to fit both filters under the hood, but using this new bracket I can easily change both filters and they do not rub or chafe against other parts...

<hr size=4 width="80%">
In the photo below, you can see the ball valves I installed from Dieselsite for the coolant filter to make filter changes a breeze. I have just about 1000 miles on the truck since the install and am planning on changing the first coolant filter soon.

And last but not least, here is where the heater hose from the firewall was tapped...

Hope that I did not post to many pictures! I just thought I'd show how I did it. It seems to be working just fine and hopefully is worth the time and effort. I intend to keep this truck for a long time. Maybe if I treat it right it will treat me well in return.

Thanks,
Jonathan

You would make the perect salesman lol j/k
I had to modify my coolant filter bracket due to
the banks larger intercooler pipes,not much room there.
