1997 ranger 3.0 , The heater is not blowing warm air.Blower is working and both hoses under the hood are hot.Could it be anything besides the blend door, like a fuse or motor problem?
Clogged heater core or low rad fluid? Can you get a cheap IR thermometer at Meijer or a tool store like Harbor Freight? Well, how hot is hot? Could be a sticking thermostat, so engine may not get up to 180 or 195 and still have hoses that seem hot.
If that, check the temp at the thermostat housing, along the hose and around that area of the radiator looking for the hottest zones. And you're not running an efan or something full-time I'd assume? The above should get things rolling. Then the experts can take over.
Thanks for the info, I had replaced the T stat 2 months ago. I changed it out today and the heater is working fine. I was not looking forward to changing the blend door. Thanks again!
