Can anyone tell me the size and length of the fuel pump bolts on a 1990 f350 7.3l diesel? some how both mine are gone which is causing a major oil leak and also rendering my truck non drivable for fear of breaking it really bad.
i would convert it to an electric pump and block off the mechanical.if you want to replace the bolts you could call an auto parts store or the ford dealer and they would probably be able to tell you
if it helps at all, you can cut an "access flap" it the plastic fenderwell. I did that to mine and I could see the camshaft lobe and everything when I replaced my pump awhile back.

yeah i was thinking bout cutting the access flap last night and being able to get at it.Thank you 1dieselman for your help. I woork really wierd hours so cant get to a dealer but parts stores no problem. Do the electric fuel pumps work good?
Yea they work pretty good, they just don't like cold thick fuel or junk from your tanks, if you can find a screen type filter to put before it that helps, but you know I've owned 6 idi pickups (including the one in my avatar) and worked on countless others and only put an electric pump on one, but I do keep a spare lift pump. Oh I don't like to cut the inner fender so I just use a mirror to double check my pump install.
I ran a carter for years without a problem when they shine is changing filters no wear on the starter to bleed. The first one I installed was on a 5.7 chevy with the sideways filter behind the air cleaner I installed a electric pump only turned it on to prime it.
