Transmission Nightmare

I am looking to turn my truck over to 4x4. Just got a Danna 60 axle and am looking for a transfer case. I was hoping to get a tail piece for the F I have but while looking over some parts lists for the F I saw that they sell a X main shaft that is LONGER than the X. Am I screwed? Will the BW1356 Case still work with the shorter main shaft?

Not sure if I understand your question.
The tail shafts from a 2WD to a 4WD are different. The trans needs to be disassembled to change it out.

I'm not sure what your asking either but I assume you are talking about the ZF-5 speed. You can change it to 4x tranny , you will need to get the shorter out put shaft and disassemble the tranny to install it

Too bad your in Long Island. Found a truck for sale in the local classifides, 95 350 psd 4x4 5spd for $1300. Missing front axle though. Thought about it for the trans (need one for my 96) but can't justify buying a parts truck right now just for a tranny.

Thanks. I did not know about the shorter shaft I have in my tranny. I was hoping to just change the tail housing on mine. Looks like this is going to turn into more of a project than I thought.
