Will the hydroboost unit out of a 2000 f250 fit in a 88 bronco? I can get it and mastercyclinder for $50. The brakes in my truck suck after swapping in the 6.9 this past fall and I would like to use this unit if possible. If some fabbing is nessasary that is not a problem. I did this whole swap in my drive way.
The older units bolt right in.
I got one for a 1996 FSD (Superduty)
A 2000 may be a bit different, major cab redesign in 1998 which is why there are no 98 F250 or 350 trucks.
Most parts on the 97 and older trucks will bolt up to trucks back to the early 80's.
Not always the case with 1999 and up parts.

Just curious, why are your brakes bad just since you swapped in the diesel (good work by the way)?
There is a post from a guy on another page who had fitted hydraboost from a `01 superduty in his `77 truck (I think) so I would think you could do it.

Just a suggestion - when I was looking for a hydroboosted vehicle to rob a piston return spring, I noticed about every Astro/Safari van has just that, hydroboost. The pushrod length of those looks awfully close to what it should be for our trucks, but mounting plate will need re-drilled to the Ford firewall bolt pattern. Then you use Superduty hoses for the same year as your truck.

I thought "piston return springs" were just another term for compression.
No, there's an actual coil spring there that returns the large piston inside the boosterand thus lifts the pedal back up when you release it - mine was getting sticky, decided to try two springs, very stiff and nice but still sticky, replaced a seal finally and now tis all good..
I swapped out the axles along with motor. The brakes just don't have the stopping power I would like, so I am doing the hyrdoboost. Thanks I did all the work myself with a little help from my duaghter and stepson. It was all done in my driveway.
