Re-Arching ?'s

I've got a stock 97 F-250 HD and want to give it an aggressive look, and have been looking at a 2.5" and 4" lift kit. Is it possible to get that much lift out of re-arching my leafs? Would the ride quality be better than a lift kid? Also, would it be cheaper or should i just spend the money and get the lift kit? I'm really only looking for a couple inches of lift, enough to fit 33's.

people on here have re-arched, i dont liek the idea but its my opinion. i feel that bending sprung steel is a bad idea. if you want lift, buy a lift kit. to get the proper fit and proportion to run 33's on a 250 then you need a 4 inch kit. otherwise you will be cramming the wheel wells full and shimming the front bumper.

33's willdefinately fit, they are no taller than a 285 or 295-75/16 that I run on my stocker. Although they are definately wider and you will have rub on the springs unless you have offset wheels. A lift will get you where you want to be. I would prefer the 2-2.5 kit myself, just preference. Some people like higher than others. I don't like the over lifted look myself. Not sure if you would have to shim the bumper but that is no big deal and doesn't change the look on the truck either.

I do agree with Joe though, I don't really like the idea of re arching springs. I tossed the idea around a bit myself. It seems to me that if they sag they will sag again later. Just my opinion.

I don't like re arching the springs either. Once you heat and bend metal is losses it's strength. A lift would be a better option.

Alright I'll probably go with a lift then. Any suggestions on which brand?
