I have the Tymar intake and the paper filter that came with it right now. I want to switch to a re-usable filter such as K&N, AFE, or similiar. I know that the newer PSD's don't do well with K&N filters, not sure about my year though.
Any thoughts on which will work best in my '95 F350?
The 6637 is a paper filter but is very high quality, it's even water resistant...to a point, and will flow more than your engine demands. You can get many miles out of them unless you are off road or in a dusty condition most of the time...like mine, I change it every 10-15K.
The biggest reason the K&N isn't too well thought of around here is due to the fit into the stock air box, it lets in dirt. The stock air box sucks. You already have a tymar so you're good to go.
Any filter of the same size that flows more CFM will let in more dirt....
I would try to get the biggest filter you can stuff under the hood no matter what type filter you choose.
I posted a link not long ago... I don't have it with me but if you search my posts it will come up and it goes to the filter comparable in size to the 6637
