I'm looking for a site to go to go about letting another individual to take over my Verizon cell phones(4) and contract. I know there are sites out there but I have no idea where. How exactly does this work anyways? I want to switch over to Sprint as with Verizon I am paying just way to much. I am getting 500 Minutes a month with 500 Text messaging on two of the four phones and am paying between $140-160 a month, as where I can get Sprint with 700 minutes and text on two of the phones for About $120. The only thing holding me back right now is worrying about the Verizon contract, and knowing what the bill will be after TAXES and OTHER FEES, and lastly Sprint unlike Verizon dont offer free texting Sprint to Sprint, although they do offer free calls sprint to sprint. I'm open to opinions and advice about canceling plans...
Not sure about selling contracts and phones to someone else. But I will tell you this. SPRINT/NEXTEL SUCKS THE BIG ONE. I was able to get out of my contract come this Jan 1 with them because of a technicallity. But I know of alot of people getting rid of them for numerous reasons; getting ripped off, poor service, poor reception, poor customer service, etc. I am looking at AT&T. They are cheaper than both, you can have rollover minutes. I had AT&T befroe and wish I never got rid of them. My dad, brother and uncle all have Verizon and love them, so we might check them out since you get free calling between Verizon phones also, but they are about $20 more than AT&T, but then so is Sprint/Nextel
Just type in Sprint Sucks in google or yahoo search and check out some of the sites that pop up.
we have Sprint/netel (25 phones) this next week we are switching to verizon.
customer service is non existant (its like asking your dog to reset your voicemail)
the coverage Sucks ***
they rape us on the bill
did I mention they suck?
I'd call VZW and ask them if you could drop to a lower plan.
not sure if this link will work for you Enter your location
Here on the central Florida coast (In the good ole' USA) while on vacation (hurricane season), we have NO BARS! If we want to use our phones, we only have to drive 6 miles inland!
Since you took over our service in a merger, our coverage sucks even worse than before!
So every time I see your STUPID commercials about mergers in Norway, Hostels in Europe, Pronunciation in China...
I just want to put my foot through the friggin' SCREEN!
vw....900 minutes, internet, gps, unlimited texing, free nights and weekends, 70 bucks a month, ive been with them 4 years. rarely do i have a drop call, and there website is easy to use to log in and make changes to my account....highly recommend them
We switched from Nextel to Verizon for the same reasons posted. I did like Nextels phones but with their service it just made them a glorified paper weight.
My cell provider was bought out by Verizon so I'm hoping for better service. The letter we received said that they(Verizon) were going to upgrade the system over the next year and I'm hoping that means better reception in some areas my wife travels to in her job. I'm also hoping I get to keep my calling plan that I have had for several years.
There are still areas around here where you get no reception at all.
I use Cellular South here. Unlimited talk in area with 750 roam miniutes a month for $59.99. I've never used up the 750. I think that I've had 3 or 4 dropped calls in the last 2 years.
Me and my family have been with Verizon for 8 or so years and we've been mostly satisfied. Look over your plan options online at Cell Phones, Cell Phone Plans, Cell Phone Accessories - Verizon Wireless, or call their customer service and see if there is a way to change your plan and lower it's cost. Also ask to see if Verizon prorates their contract termination charges. I THINK, but I'm not really sure, that Verizon charges $20 per month (or something like that) for each remaining month in the contract.
Right now, we have 3 phones on a 1400 minute family plan with 5000 text messages on the kids phone and we're paying about $160-170. We plan shortly to drop two of the phones that are off contract, go to a much cheaper individual plan just for Dad and my step-mother and eliminate the text, since they don't do that. I expect they'll be paying $50-60.
One problem we've had with Verizon is that we moved out of their home network area and into their "Extended Network". The only problem with that is that cell coverage in general is sparse out here and our phones didn't work in town. This has changed since Verizon is moving forward with their Unicel merger and Verizon phones (when their roaming tables are updated) are now are working off the Unicel tower just up the hill. This will allow Dad to use his cell phone for all his long distance calling (free long distance with Verizon) and save him even more money.
I recently purchased my own Unicel phone, so that I could give the one I'm using back to Dad so he could shut it off and save money. I'm actually looking forward to the completion of the merger, so that I'm a Verizon customer again and will have access to my account on the web page, free calls to other Verizon customers (like Dad) and such.
