...the ausi 4v heads come w/ 2.19 intake and 1.71" exhaust same as our 351c 4v, the differance on the 2v's is the ausi 2v run the 4v ports w/ the 2v valves and they are alot lighter...
i'm gonna disagree. any large port heads down under are US 4V heads, AUS 4V heads are small port/small valve, the intake is 4bbl and small port.
I'd definitely use the Aussie heads. If you ask around you might find an Aussie who can tell you were you can grind on the combustion chamber to enlarge it and reduce your compression ratio. If you do use Aussie heads, you'll want to recurve your distributor to take advantage of the better combustion characteristics of the Oz heads. It's not just the higher compression ratio, it's the better burn of the Oz heads that are the advantage.
You can also get an Oz iron 4bbl intake manifold to go with the heads. When I bought them they were $75.
Well sorry to disappoint, but I found a rebuilt 351c, offy intake, and 4v heads. It came with all the brackets, starter, new oil pump, alternator, headers and original logs, etc... I just could not pass it up. Originally had a toploader manuel, so I just need to get a new flex plate and cover so I can hook up my c4. I already had all the brakets and such from my other 351, so I will have to keep a set in case I start another 351c project in the future.
no disappointment here, welcome to the world of Cleveland Performance!
which offy manifold is it, there are 360*, 180*, dual port, dial-a-port, port-o-sonic...
and the reason you need a flexplate and block plate is because the ones on the engine are for a stick? summit has a block plate made by performance automatic that works with both C4 flexplates/bellhousings, PMA-PA26445, you can see the double set of starter bolts in the pic, do you know which C4 you have? they're commonly termed panfill or casefill depending where the diptube goes into the trans. the bells also attach to the trans differently, either to the pump bolts or to separate bolts outside the front pump to the case. the small casefill bell uses a 157 tooth flex and the slightly bigger panfill bell uses a 164 tooth flex. there are also aftermarket bells that can change a 157t flex to a 164t flex.
I will be getting my current C4 rebuilt. Its is a panfill, from 72 I beleive. I ran the numbers once, but forgot which year exactly. I do know its considered the later model. I have not counted the teeth on my other cleveland flexplate, but beleive its the 164. I am not reusing the old flexplate due to some teeth wear issued. The prior setup did not have the block plate and some of the debris in the trans case could also have explained the tooth wear.
The offy intake is marked 360. There used to be a divider plate, but it lookes like someone decided to removed it. I don't know enough about this setup to know if this modification helps or hurts the intake. I plan to have her up and running in a month or two. I have a new waterpump, oil pump, gas pump, and need to freshen up the holley carb off my other setup. The only other major thing holding me back is the trans had a leak and I just want to have it rebuilt so I won't be removing it a month after installation.
but yeah i guess you need your own access cover, i'm not sure if a Ford cover will work with the Performance Automatic part or if you'd need to make one yourself?
