Tire Size

What is the biggest street tire you can run in the front without rubbing? The truck is an 89 f150 Supercab longbed 2wd. I was planning on using 275/60-15 all around, until I realized that the stock rims are 15 X 6. I know that the 275's are too wide for this rim, and the 235-75 15 on it now are way too narrow for my tastes. So, without buying new rims, how big can I go?

I wouldn't go any wider than 255's. Usally there are application charts that tire stores have for each brand they sell. The charts will state your minimum width and maximum width rim for that brands tire size. You might want to try this approach also.

People who say it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.

I ran 255/70 BFG T/As on stocker XLT aluminum rims, and got 70K out of them.

That's as big as I'd go, though.
