I have always thought this was strange! On my 2005 5.4 F-150 XLT 4x4 Screw I have noticed that I have no insulation attatched to the underside of my hood. I just thought it was a cost cutting measure, as all my prior vehicles have this. However since looking at a lot of picks I noticed that they do have insulation??? Whats the deal is this standard on all F-150's or only on some models ??????????
My '06 XLT has insulation under the hood... my brothers Lariat has insulation and all of my co-workers with 04-08 F150's (several) which range from XLT's to King Ranch's all have under hood insulation...
Who knows... maybe someone removed it?
A replacement is only $47.84 from the FTEPARTSGUY.com
Thank You for the Info. I called Ford today and they ran my Vin # and said according to my production date it does not have one. When I asked why he could not answer . He did say that any year 04-08 would snap in no problem.
my 05 xlt did not have it... my 07 lariat does.....its a noise reduction piece for the person who asked why.....Maybe it depends where it was built????
