If I do monoleafs on the front of my '50 f-1, do I have to make any mods to steering parts? Also should I do monoleafs on rear also or just the flip kit? ALL Opinions welcome.
Somebody tell me something. When I started redoing the spring bushings, I noticed the PO had a spring that appears to be from an F1 and the passenger side spring has the same number of leafs, but each leaf is thicker. Is that spring from a F-2 or bigger? That is why I am wondering about monos. If I have to buy springs I thought I might as well lower it.
Check Mid Fifty. They sell lowering leaf kits for front and rear that are not monos (preferred). They just started carrying F1 stuff. Mid Fifty: 1-800-252-1956
People I know that had mono leafs hated them, a very rough ride, they either converted back to lowered multi leaf and/or drop axle or they just sold their good looking lowered trucks to start on another project.
Thanks for the link. I thought more people might look with the ?????. Maybe not though.
Some folks who have slower internet connections may not want to waste time opening up a post that they can offer no insight on or have an interest in. It also helps with the search function. A good title would be "Question about Monoleafs", "pros and cons of monoleafs", or "question for monoleaf users"
I thought about them myself, but I think I prefer a spring pack just for the safety of it. I am considering the "down and forward" springs from mid-fifty, or reverse eye main leafs then taking out every other leaf in the pack.
