Most commonly those harnesses under the valve cover come unplugged. They are ridiculously easy to unsnap. Isolate which side is not running (it will be cooler than the other side), and pop off the valve cover.

X2. The burned pins were a problem with the older trucks. Ours just come unplugged.
What did he plug back in? If it was the under valve cover plastic plug, it will happen again without fixing it, either with a repair clip or a home made shim behind the locking tabs..
if it happens again. i think when i have it apart i will take the wiring harness off the injectors and glowplugs put it on a bench and use some 3m panel bond to glue it together, i didnt have that much time to do it tonite, but in a few weeks i should be able to have the truck down for a couple days to clean all the oil out of the plug and panel bond it all together, or maybee just buy a new valve cover gasket and valve cover wiring harness and glue the brand new ones together and use those. honestly i dont see the point in there being a plug under that cover. honestly i'd rather have to replace a wiring harness attached to a valve cover gasket than deal with an internal plug isue. ohh well shoulda been an engineer.
