Coolant Test Strips

Went to napa and bought Cooltrak coolant test strips, and tested my coolant and it tested out at 8.0 is that the right PH or do I need more additve. Thanks

It all depends on what coolant/additives you're using. The tests strips for DCA4, FW16 don't measure PH, just nitrites, molybdates and glycol %

So I need the test strips for the DCA4 or FW16 not the PH

I used napa green coolant. I changed it about a year ago and put 3/4 a bottle of fw16 and thought I would check to make sure there is the right amount of the additive

With FW16 you should add one pint for every two gallons of coolant at refill.

BTW, Ryder Fleet Products seems to have the best price on the Fleetguard DCA4 and the test strips. Caveat -- watch the date on the test strips. I bought 10, 'cuz they were only a dollar or so apiece (and I didn't have to buy a 50-bottle), but they expire in March '09 (ordered in Nov '08). So assuming it's always only a four-month shelf-life, order accordingly.
