I repaired my 65 rad support a few years ago and although not a easy job, it was very fun!
bending and shaping the patches and miging them in turned out real nice no bondo!
P.S. the bondo that was already there, some of it I put in when I was 15 years old, sure
helped save this core support!
Yes i have been able to patch the lower support areas with new metal, but now that a reproduction is available i would not waste the time in repairs. I would just convert as time=money in the repair department and at 65 to 100 bucks an hour for metal work now days it can add up real fast. even if it is your own time involved.
I have found that once blasted even purported rust free cores can and do have pin holes and such.
