Finally got the backup camera installed, at the bottom of the screen you can see just the top of the ball on the hitch. This is so nice for hooking up my toys... no more guess work and backing into chit... done that more than once.
My G-friend and I always seem to get into it when I am trying to hook up to somehing.. guess she cant tell her right form left.. nor when to stop.. Problem solved!
Thats exactly what i ment by my Toys! Ie: camp trailer, Boat, Sleds, dirtbike's, 4wheeler, race car trailer...
Actually I bought it at Harbor Freight for under $40.00, just ran the wires back to my DVD/multimedia player, and hooked them in, it has two aux inputs and a camera input, I could hook up to 3 camera's in to it.. I plan on adding two more... its just too cool, color and night vision too...
Wow, that looks great!! Honey... I think i know what i want for Christmas finally... A new stereo with a Video screen, and a back-up camera with night vision!!! Sweet!!!
Let us know how well it is in the dark. Ive got plenty of inputs on my head unit and wouldnt mind doing this as well but I got out of the car electronics biz right when these were getting popular and dont know which brand does what! You dont happen to have a model # do you?! I think this and installing my sat radio antenna will be my next project!
This was a no name brand from harbor freight, made for home use, but it is 12v, simply cut the wires off the converter and spliced them into the + and - for the radio, that way its only powered on with the radio, and yes i am going to mount one inside the cab right behind the rear interior light facing back to be able to see the 5th wheel attachment and my repo sling for even easier hookups.... 39.99 @ harbor freight, BTW the night vision works awesome! I used it last night it has 8 infer-red bulbs that light up the camera's view for about 40' works friggen great! I used some clear silicone to seal up the camera so the wet wont hurt it any....
Randy is terrible at it too. I get so flippin mad at him.
"Left, left left, a little bit more to the left left..left WAIT WAIT WAIT TOO FAR CRANK IT RIGHT."
And then he gives me hand signals and stands in my blind spot.
Time for some '08 tow mirrors?
I saw on another forum awhile back where a guy installed an '08 tail gate with the backup camera in it. He also had the '08 rearview mirror that had the monitor in it. I been keeping an eye in the junkyards for this setup, but no luck yet.
