coil bucket drop

Hello Ford people
I was told by a friend that i could gain 3 inches of lift by moving my coil buckets down a hole and then drilling a new hole to keep strength. Has anyone ever done this? If i can, I will use the drop brackets for the i beams that correct for 3 inches of lift.
thanks

Yes it will work. I have a friend who did this on a 79 4x4. You'll still have to correct everything just like if you had taller coils (shocks, steering, etc). If you like the ride of the stock coils and want to save $100 for new ones its a pretty good idea.
