stowable bed extender

I believe the 2009 can be had with a stowable bed extender. If so, can this extender be purchased seperately so I can install or adapt it to my 2004 F150?

The bed extender was made available on the '04-'08 gen trucks. Get one of those, no mods needed.

I want the one that folds into the sides of the bed, it is made of plastic or something- not the aluminum one that is one piece.
