Super Camper Special bed question

Is the wheel well on a SCS bed in a different place then a regular 8 foot bed?

How did Ford accomplish the wheelbase stretch for the SCS?

They moved the rear axle back Don't ask me the wheelbase, I do not remember the exact number, but I do know stock is 133", I would guess 140+.

yes the wheel well is moved back.its still an 8 foot box,but the wheel base is 140 inch, from 133 inch (thats based on a regular cab pick up truck of coarse) so the over all lenght of the truck is the same as a regular cab long box.

Since the S/CS wheelbase of 140" is 7" longer than a 133" wheelbased truck, the overall length will not be the same.

Wouldn't the bumper to bumper measurement be the same for the SCS and a regular cab longbed, just the wheel to wheel measurement's be different?

They are the same length truck. I thought I was scoring something rare when I bought the upper racetrack trim from a junkyard. I took it home, added it to the stash of other trim, it was the same length as a regular 8' bed.

It's still a standard cab with an 8' bed- The axle is all that is moved. Different bed to allow for the axle being further back, same overall dimensions as a standard longbed pickup.

the overall length of the truck is the same. it's just that the axle for the SCS is moved back 7 inches.
