I picked up the new guitar hero a little while back and was wondering if anyone knows how to use both guitars, a mic, and drums all at the same time on the PS2? It has 2 controller ports, and 2 usb ports...I tried using a multitap but it didn't work. With the mic plugged into usb you have to have a controller plugged into a controller port, or so it seems.
I've used Guitar hero, and rock band, on a PS2 using the same setup rednekrailroader spoke of with the 4 slot usb hub. I have the PS3 versions with all the instruments, and a buddy has the PS2 version minus the instruments. We've successfully used my instruments from the PS3 version on his PS2. I believe the USB instruments are the same for all versions PS2, PS3, and X-box 360. I've played all three and they seem the same to me.
I'm not sure but you may need to mess with your USB settings in one of the systems menus. Perhaps its something simple like your USB support has been shut off or something.
To make them work on his PS2 we have the drums, mic, and wireless guitar plugged into the usb hub, and the hub is plugged into the first port on the PS2. There's a standard controller plugged into the first controller port and another wireless guitar plugged into the second controller port.
Does either your mic or drums work if you plug them into a usb port individually?
By the way you were correct, you need a standard controller plugged into port 1 when you use the microphone.
the drums and mic both work in usb ports but my problem is with the standard controller...it is keeping me from being able to use 2 guitars at once...i only have the ps2 controller port wireless guitars
