The wife thinks she needs an MP3 player, and I guess I am just getting to old to care about all that stuff to keep up with it.
So what's good and what's bad. I would prefer to stay away from Apple and thier I stuff, we use napster so anything that works with that would be good. I'm not looking for the newest and bestest just something good. Thanks
They're plenty of them out there that aren't apples Ipods. If she just wants one that'll play music and not video there should plenty to choose from, and they're getting pretty cheap cost wise.
I've got a RCA unit that I'm quite happy with. I think it was around 45 bucks at BestBuy. Has 2 gigs of internal memory, and It has a mini memory card slot to add more memory if needed. I've got about 12,000 titles on it now. Its got a very simple user interface, just plug it into a usb port and then copy mp3 files from your computer. It uses a single triple A battery, I use a rechargeable and it gets about 50 hours of play between charges.
I used a simple set of RCA cables in the trucks, and on my home stereo, I can plug it in and listen to tunes whenever.
For under thirty bucks I got one that plugs into the car cigarette lighter and plays MP3's over the FM radio. Stores the files on a USB thumb drive. Great if you spend a lot of time in the car.
If all you want is music there is no need to spend a lot of money on a player.
i have an older creatice also, a 30gb one. the battery stopped working so i bought my new creative instead of paying the $50 for the special battery my other one takes.
i want to somehow hook it up in my explorer and use it instead of having cd's, plus so it is not just sitting here doing nothing.

Does your Truck's CD player have any sort of aux. jack on the front panel?
no it doesn't...wait, i am sure it doesn't but will see in the morning.
at least i can say i never had noticed one there, it is an explorer with the 6 disk changer in it. i look at the thing everyday so you would think i would know for sure.
I have tried several brands, and I have got to say for me the Apple products (IPODs) work very well. The controls are simple, screen on the classic model is huge and clear for video. I cant see the ones with tiny screens, or use the tiny buttons. They are logical, and they perform well. I have a 80 gig classic, holds endless music, video, photos, and podcasts.. My wife has Ipod nano she uses at the gym every day.

Since my music is on Spiral Frog, I can't use any Apple products, so I'm hedging towards "anything cheap".
I'm toying with the possibility of buying one for my Goldwing. Either that or install the extra Sirius radio I have on it. But I have songs on my computer that you don't hear on Sirius...old songs that is so an Mp3 player looks very good to me.
