Fuel Mileage help please!!
Guys, I have 2 all stock vehicles I need help with 02 Excursion 7.3,4x4 and 02 F350 7.3 4x4...the Excursion is getting 16-17 mpg hwy and the F350 is getting 15-16 hwy...I have heard a lot about chips and how they give you far more fuel mileage than stock..I could care less about additional power as I feel mine have all the power I will ever need. I just need more mileage as I travel 500 miles per wk. Can anyone offer any assistance or suggestions?

The whole thing about chips giving you better fuel mileage has two points to it...
1. You are making the motor run better. Better running = less fuel milage.
2. Since you are making more power you need less throttle to make the vehicle move.
Put these two things together and you have an all around more efficient vehicle. More efficiency = better fuel mileage.

Start with your air intake( ford AIS or 6637 filter, something that will give you better flow for the $$$ mods later ) then maybe a good 4" ss exhaust system then see how your milage is. This is just a good place to start.Roy
