Scott - I came across this sedan while surfing. Pretty nice looking. And to complete the story on the 4x4 pickup, it was a F-3 with half ton modern axles. Cob job. Stu

He had an old 1952 Ford pickup under a tarp. It has an old Flathead in it, but what really caught my eye was the front hoghead poking out. He said his granddaddy bought it new like that. Did the 4x4 conversions go back to 1952? The problem is at some point his transmission went out so he put in a 2wd transmission and ran a long driveshaft all the way to the rear hoghead. My question is would a transmission and transfer case from a 1964 4x4 work in this truck or would the bolt pattern be different? Please respond asap! Thanks
Hi, I saw this old post, did you ever follow up on that 52 4x4 I am interested in any info you might have on it, I need some parts or a whole truck Thanks, Mark thechassisman@comcast.net

Mark - It turned out to be an F-3 mounted on a modern half ton drive train. Ford0625 sent me pictures of it. It was just a pieced together job. Look up at my 12/26/08 response back to Havi where I described it as a "cob job".

Anything more develop with the guy on eBay trying to sell the separate half ton drive train with his '53? IMHO, those need to be sold separately rather than as a package.

And MH related, I saw Rod and had a good visit at Iola this weekend. He's sure happy with your headliner installation in his Ranger. Plus, he told me exactly where the '51 F-2/F-3 MH sits in a South Dakota museum. I'm gonna stop and see it on our way home from Oregon in August. I'll try to get all its numbers for my records, and will send them to you for your records if you want them. Take care.

1955 Ranger body

Here's a couple of pics of the 1955 Marmon Herrington Ranger body. So far the only 53 to 55 type Ranger accounted for. The guy that had it before was going to turn it into a street rod, didn't know what it was. Didn't hurt the body but did some mods on the chassis I'll have to change back. Luckily all of the vin matching M-H tags and emblems were kept with it, and it was in Calif. most of it's life so it has almost no rust, just a couple dents to fix.
