So I have an excursion with 252,000 on the clock and the olde diesel is beginning to give me some fits.
The HPOP is on its way out, the up pipes need to be replaces, the oil pan is about ready to fall off among many other items.
So if I had to pull the engine I was going to consider just putting in a new long block, but I haven't been able to find anything online. Anyone got any idea on how much a long block would run?
Jasper will sell you one shipped for around 7k no turbo or injectors, i think that they want 9.5 for turb and injs... when i bought mine they were doing 1 year unlimited mile parts and labor warranty...
When i was looking at a new motor i asked around ALOT! and they were very well recommended.. that and you still get a 2year unlimited mile warranty with it... That same company also had "Never been fired" motors too...
FYI To all: MY motor was rebuilt by CAT. All dealerships have to get there remmaned motors from CAT now. FORD has contracted with CAT to rebuild their motors since they no longer have a contract with International. So someone somewhere knows where CAT is rebuilding these motors. I attempted to find out and came up with nothing. Not even a news article. Someone could cut out the middle man (dealership) and have CAT rebuild their motor if this information was available.
