Front End noise's
I have a 03 F350 4x4 7.3 PSD. 75000 miles. I still have a grinding noise in, what sounds like, the drivers side front wheel but I'm not sure about that. I've replaced the ball joints and u-joints on both sides. In the process of doing this I also checked the needle bearings and wheel bearings\hubs and they all looked good. I also cleaned and regreased the hubs. To pinpoint the noise I would like to actually take the 4wd hubs out of both wheels and try driving it in 4wd and see if I still get the grinding noise. That way I could elimanate the hubs and see if the noise comes from a different area of the front -end. Given that the front axles are not supported by the 4x4 hubs, does anyone know if I can actually do this with out screwing anything up?Thanks, Jim
