AA code injector in a 99?!?!?
I have been experiencing a miss at about 1500 rpm. The last time this happened my #2 inj was not putting out any fuel even though the solonoid ohmed out fine.
Well I hooked up my new AE - I got it cuz i figured i'd rather not spend 8 hours tracing down wires again if there was a better way to do it!
Ran a buzz test and my #5 inj sounded very weak - barely a buzz even when hot.
So i pulled the PS VC - and what do i see in the #5 hole - a friggin AA code injector!!!!
Nevermind teh fact that only 2 of the VC bolts were even close to tight - i took off the rest without using any tools - just fingers - needless to say the PS side of the engine is pretty oily - not running drips but just oily dirt.
Oh well - I cant beleive that some one would have stuck an AA injector in there.
I have an EARLY 99 build date on engine is 02/02/98
so i should have AB codes with no LL in #8
Anyways, i have pictures of the injector and everything...
Really just wanted to vent!!!
I am hoping that after running a few miles to get all teh air out, that my truck will be running WAY better...
Ill post pictures when i get to a place where i can download them off the camera.
I've got no idea why you've got an AA injector under there, but you're right. Life is much easier when you just have to plug in the AE and press a few buttons.
Also i did torque all the bolts down - I had a few that were loose-ish i mean i could get about a 1/4 turn out before the click.
I had not thought about the possibility of a rebuilt....hmmmm i know that my #5 and # 4 were swapped out before i got the truck - they have an alliant power code not the OEM ford code/part number. Oh well, i guess it makes no difference now-I got my brand new Alliant Power AB code in there...
Oh yeah - No I am the second owner. Ive had the truck for a year now and i am just sorting out all of the lil bugs that arent quite right before i can start modding it.
