I just bought a 2006 Ford F-350 6.0 diesel with 7k miles.
The truckj has a Rancho 4 inch lift and ladder bars. The truck is sitting on 22" rims wrapped with 325/50 R22's. I am new to the lift game and experienced a HUGE problem while driving to work this AM... I was going 55mph on 95S when I hit an un even surface in the highway, I was in the flow of traffic whenmy the two front wheels felt as if they were bouncing off the ground from side to side "Shimmey/shimmey" I lightly used the brakes to get the truck back under control at about 25mph and then proceeded. this was a VERY violent side to side bouncing of the tires. Can anyone help!?!? This is too risky to let my girlfriend drive and much less have this happen again to anyone with my same setup. Thanks so much !
This is a common problem from what i've heard in the coil sprung superdutys. It is probably in the trac bar bushings. Check all components in the front end for play, make sure all the bolts on the lift are tight, etc. I wouldn't spend the money on new tires just yet as "death wobble" usually isn't cause by bad tires. You might get some better responses in the superduty forum if you want to try that.
