Rear end Sagging

I just put a 4 inch superlift on my 95 f-150 with 2.5 inch rear blocks. Right now, empty, the truck is dead even front to back, but when i put any kind of load in it, the rear end sags from the weight. I was wondering which is the best to fix this, getting air bags, or trying to lift the rear some more. The truck is pretty high as it is now so i wont want to lift it very much, is the air bag helpers a good idea for 200 bucks? And if i were to go the lifting route, should i get bigger blocks? I've heard that there are shackle lifts out there, is that true becuase i've never seen them for an f-150. thanks.

The air bags are really nice from what I hear, and increase load carrying capacity dramatically, now the down side to the kit is the price, like you mentioned there are around $200 but that doesn’t include the air compressor you’ll need. The air compressor and kit is about $170 or so. If you want to shell out $370 for extra load capacity and a little extra height go for it.

What I would do is throw in some add-a-leafs, which you can get kits that raise it about 1.5 to 2.5 inches, and also increases your payload too. The add-a-leafs may produce a little harsher ride, not too bad.
The best thing is there not that expensive, about $50 bucks or so.
The kits include every thing you need to install them.

You could also get some helper springs, I’m not sure if they will raise the truck, I think they will a little. They will keep your truck level when you put a load in it.

That’s about all there is out there, but I did see some lift blocks a while back at an auto parts store, they had the u-bolt and every thing
Don’t remember what sizes they were, but I know they went up to a 6 inch block, for around $10 or $20 bucks.
It was at Checker auto, they have different names around the country, and I think they are Schucks auto and also Kragen auto.

I bought an 85 F250 4x4 light duty about a year ago and it came with air bags, it is set so that where the trailer plug would normally go in the bumper the valve stems come out and you can just give them a shot of air at the gas station to fill them up. This truck can now carry well over two tons before it starts to sag, I don't understand why trucks don't come from the factory with these. Go for the air bags you will be happy.

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys, i think i will go with the airbag route because i dont have to have the compressor right away...i can fill em with my compressor, or stop at a gas station. I also have a portable air tank that i can fill with my compressor and leave it in the back for a long trip I like that idea.

I was told that you should keep the bags full at all times empty or not. The air has lasted in the bags for months so filling it up on long trips has not been a problem. Good luck!

Good luck with your air bags. Sounds like a neat idea. My truck would also sag when I put anything of much weight in the back. My springs are probably worn out and I "should" have bought the leaf packs with my lift but I didn't wana shell out 300 bucks for them. So I went and bought some add a leafs. They are fairly substantial at that too. After I put them in it lifted my rear about 2 inches, maybe a lil more and stiffened up the ride. I like it tho, its a truck right? Now, when I load up the four wheeler it doesn't sag any noticable amount.
