Can I put wider or bigger tires on my factory rims for my 1995 F150 2 wd? And if so how wide can I go? I dont want new rims right now because the factory ones are still in great shape? I am just tired of my little skinny tires on my truck. Thanks.
If you don't know, Pull off a rear tire and look on the inside of the rim (rear because theres to much brake dust on the fronts) it will tell you what size you have. It might say it on the door jam i forget. If you have 7.5 in rims, you can get any tire up to 11.5 wide as the limit.
You can't get an 11.5 on a 7 rim can you. I am selling my 32x11.5x15 tires because I only have a 7 inch wide rim but if they will fit I will sell my 31x10.5x15's instead.
I would say they will fit but it is pushing it. An 11.5 inch wide tire has a recommened minimum width of an 8 inch rim, so a 7.5 is close enough, no experience with it. I've heard people put 12.5 inch wide tires on a 7.5 inch rim so i think you should be ok.
Yeah I think I would be fine. I have a set of 31x10.5x15 that are mounted on 7 inch rims and they rub when I turn all the way. I am not sure of the backspacing on the rims, they are the grey ones with the center cab and beauty ring from 86-91. When I put the 32x11.5x15 which are mounted on 15x8's they don't rub at all. If I was to put the 32's on the 7 inch rim then I believe they would rub like crazy. Thanks for the help though.
