I've got a 95 f-150 and i'm thinking about getting alittle more lift out of my rear end. I recently put a 4" superlift on there which came with 2 1/2 inch lift blocks. With no weight in the truck, it rides even, but whenever i put some weight in there it obviously sags. I was thinking about getting air bags for the rear at about 200 bucks, but then was thinking about just changing the blocks, maybe 4 inchers? Other then a larger possiblity of axle wrap and roll-out, are there any other downsides to changing the 2 1/2 inch blocks out for the 4s? Any particular company u've delt with and had good results?
i dont see any problem in puttin a bigger block under it, if you dont have add-a-leafs you might want to consider those too. i like superlift products, but i have the best (in my opinion) and a pretty rare lift system called BDS the web site for them is www.bds-suspension.com. i really like their priducts.
How tall were your stock blocks? for my 4x4 they were 2" and they gave me 3.5"ers to put in their place so I gained 1.5" in the rear. I also have an add a leaf and my rear end is STILL to low. This makes me wonder did you stack your blocks? The guy at National Tire and wheel told me to do just that but everyone on here agreed with me that it is a bad idea. My front was lifted a little bit over 4" and stock vs stock a 4x4 sits a good deal higher in the front so maybe you truck doesn't need as much rear lift as mine. I was thinking of going with 5" blocks. 4.5 would be perfect and raise the back end just a tad bit over the front but I can't find any! As for your truck, going with a 4" block might cause "some" axle wrap with the stock springs especially since they are the lower rate springs on the 2x4. With my truck stock and without the add a leaf I did have a little bit of axle wrap. But with my 3.5" blocks and add a leaf I dont notice any axle twist. I would suggest getting an add a leaf, it is alot more work then simply changing the blocks to a bigger size but then you don't have to worry about it anymore and be able to haul more weight without your back sagging towards the ground. I even considered putting a seconds leaf in mine but that might get to stiff and I already have a strong enough pack.
