Well after reading my post, I can see how I made mess out of the english language. Yall should understand I speak south Alabama redneck so things don't come out right some times.
What I intended to say was,....
I decovered a web site called powerstrokehelp.com. I looked at some of the You Tube video's on the site and thought the guy talked alot but seemed to know his stuff. The 6.0 diesel is a totally different animal for me. I deal with fairly large marine diesel engines.
This guy "Bill" broke it down in my terms, especially the video comparing the 6.0 to the 7.3. I just wondered what yall thought..
For the most part, it is a good site. The videos are pretty informative. I did post a thread not too long ago regarding the Servicing of the Torqueshift transmission. I would not recommend following it b/c Bill Hewitt, the guy on video, uses the wrong transmission fluid (Mercon V). The correct transmission fluid is Mercon SP. In addition, he does not drain all of the fluid (8-9qts) Should be 18-19 qts drained. Overall though, I think he knows his stuff.
Generally he is pretty good, but he makes several mistakes. A couple of them could bause issues for folks that do not know any better.
Mistakes:
1. He states to use Mercon V (he calls it "Mercron") in the tranny. You MUST ONLY USE Mercon SP - do NOT use Mercon V.
2. He states the Motorcraft Premium Gold Coolant is a propylene glycol. It is a HOAT (Hybrid Organic Acid Technology) ethylene glycol.
3. He states that with a bypass filter and synthetic oil you can go 20k miles. You really should NOT go over 10k and I would not recommend going over 7500k (multiple reasons for this we can debate later).
4. He states you can use Prolong as an oil additive. Maybe you can and maybe you can't. Generally the use of an oil additive is not a good idea. Hot Shot's Secret is an oil additive that has a lot of support. I still think that MOST folks are better off without using an oil additive.
His philosophy on clean fluids and proper filters is absolutely crucial!
Bismic's item #3 is absolutely correct. Filters do not stop oil shear or fuel dilution. Characteristics of the 6.0. I personally do the oil every 5,000 or 6 months which ever comes 1st. Compare a 100 dollars to 10,000 for a new engine, No brainer!

5,000 or 6 months for me also! I just used Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme 5W40 in the last change (have been using Schaeffer 9000). I am anxious to see the UOA for the Valvoline, but it will be awhile. My last Schaeffer analysis showed the viscosity held up well at 5000 miles. It holds the viscosity better than most other oils. I will post the results soon. My reason for changing was that the lead was 7-8 ppm for the last 15k miles (3 changes).
For general understanding, he does explain it in easy terms. I'd just use it to get the general understanding though. As far as technical specs, I'd double check on those.
Like 69CJ and Bismic I beleive that frequent oil changes are the key. I am changing mine 4 times a year only because I take lots of short trips, and I havent switched to synthetic yet...although I am seriously considering it. But as an authotrized MC distributor I cant beat the prices I get on the Ford oil and Filters and my report from Blackstone hasnt showed anything to be alarmed about.
I also agree, cause last night I read your other post and it made the hair on the back of my necks stand up when I heard him say to use Mecr. V.
Kepp the filters and fluids clean and you will have many happy miles out of your truck. Also if you get some spare change add a coolant filter too.
