I have a 1985 Ford F-150, and isn't there supposed to be a buzzer when you first start it? If so, mine doesn't work, and how do you get it to work again?
Mine is a '86 and I'm sure it's the same deal. The buzzer works when the key is in the ingnition switch and in the off position, and the door is opened to where the dome light is on. The buzzer is located directly above the center of the glovebox door. Easy to reach up and it simply twists out. Then you'll see the plug to disconnect. The one that was in mine was barely working as I could sneeze inside the truck (literally) and it would go off or on. Very intermittant, but I replaced it now and it works fine.
The Fasten belt warning buzzer will sound if you are not wearing your seatbelt, and you start the truck. The Fasten Belts light will shine, if you are buckled in or not, when you start it.
It may have been unplugged behind the seat. I've done this to mine - the screaming tone of it drove me mad.
There is a connector at the bottom end of the seat belt strap that plugs into wiring coming from under the carpet. Unplugging at this connector doesn't affect the warning light on the dash
