I just burned through my third set of manually-controlled Delco plugs. The tips don't break off like Autolites, but they don't seem to last long.
What are the Ford part #'s for glow plugs and the complete relay & controller?
I'm seeing motorcraft plugs on e-bay listed as Z-1A and Z-9, which is correct.
I put a test light on the plug with the ground lead attached to positive on the battery and no light - I assume this indicates a dead plug (open circuit)?
ZD-1= 6.9
ZD-9= 7.3 IDI
ZD-11= first generation power stroke.
if you look around, you should be able to get the ZD-9's for around $10 each. the dealer wants way too much for them, and should be used only in an emergency or last chance situation.
