Ford Glow Plug/Controller Part #'s

I just burned through my third set of manually-controlled Delco plugs. The tips don't break off like Autolites, but they don't seem to last long.

What are the Ford part #'s for glow plugs and the complete relay & controller?

I'm seeing motorcraft plugs on e-bay listed as Z-1A and Z-9, which is correct.

I put a test light on the plug with the ground lead attached to positive on the battery and no light - I assume this indicates a dead plug (open circuit)?

Just called a dealer. Ford is now listing a ZD-11 for my '94 IDI motor.

So now i'm up to ZD-1A'a, ZD-9's, and ZD-11's.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is?

I got these part numbers:
ZD-1A E5TZ-12A342-B
ZD-9 F2TZ-12A342-A
ZD-11 F4TZ-12A342-BA

Dealer price on ZD-11's is $24.73/ea

I guess I figured it out myself. If anyone else finds this thread and has the same question:

ZD-1A For spade-style connectors (up to '86 i think)
ZD-9 For bullet-style connectors (87-94)
ZD-11 Powerstroke.

I'm not 100% on the ZD-11's The dealer I called said they were for my '94, but he may have been looking at '94 Powerstroke.

correct you are

ZD-1= 6.9
ZD-9= 7.3 IDI
ZD-11= first generation power stroke.

if you look around, you should be able to get the ZD-9's for around $10 each. the dealer wants way too much for them, and should be used only in an emergency or last chance situation.
