straight pipe is ok... just dont go too big. I hear 4' and bigger is no good for an idi most have really good results with 3.5'', really depends on the engine and mods to it.
What do you mean " make my front end straight "? lift blocks can be bought anyware... my local autoparts has em or you can google it and find a bunch of suppliers... 6'' sounds kinda big for a spring block but I'm no expert...I do know that you dont want blocks on the front axle.
When I looked into lifting my truck I couldn't find a lift kit for a diesel F250... seams they all say "not recomended for diesel" I dont know why. The 250's have what they call a ttb front axle. the only way to lift the front a a ttb front end is with new springs a drop pitman arm for the steering, and drop brackt that'll keep your wheels from pitching in . The bracket drops the center pivot of the ttb... or you can do what I ended up doing and swap a solid axle into it but thats some $$$ I paid 1500 bucks for mine.. but it came with the a whole truck...lol
just read your profile and under intrests you say " making my truck as big as possable"... If you want a big lift for your truck you can't do it with the ttb front end thats in there now... the only option for you is to swap a D60 in there... if you look in my gallery you'll see some picts of what my truck used to look like and what it looks like now after the D60 swap... and I could go another 6'' with a lift kit. as it is now it sits on stock springs with an add a leaf in the front and a 2'' body lift
P.S. nice lookin truck!
Edit: When I said stock springs i forgot to say one ton springs...hehe
In most states a truck with blocks between the axle and springs on the front axle will not pass inspection because it does present a safety issue.
The only way to lift the front end on a truck with an IFS front axle is with a lift kit designed for both the axle and truck, just changing springs is not an option.
The IFS front axles are very sensetive to ride height changes, it don't take much change to get outside the limits the adjustments can handle to propperly align the front end.
Lift kits for the IFS axle are expensive.
Dana 60 axles are also expensive, but they are much stronger axles.
Looking at New Hampshire lift laws, the front bumper has to stay at stock height and the bumper bottom must be within 20" of the ground.
yah i dont think thats right i think it no more than 36" of the ground but im not sure i see all kinds of big truck running around up here. but i will probley just swap in the d60 front end i that a straght axel? i just want to lift it so if i put 33" or 35" on it it wont rub
i run 33-12.50 on mine with no lift and i got a 4" lift and im running 36-12.50 and they dont rub. on my lift i found a place and bought the drop brackets for the axles and had springs made and just put blocks on the back and i spent around $600 on it all.
skyjacker had a 6" lift if i'm not mistaken. I'm thinking about putting a solid axle under mine.
it would be better to buy new springs. blocks are no fun when you just get more spring wrap. that stuff hurts! Me personally, i like to ditch the springs and put bags under it. nice to pull a trailer and keep the headlights where they should be and not in the trees. no spring wrap to worry about.
thank guys i just wanted to find out some lift ideas i think im just going to swap in a straght axel and new springs maby semi bag i dono i will figure it out as i go
