On my 2001 4.6L, when you remove the decorative cover, it's on top of the throttle body. 2 bolts, and 1 plug.

 

Also what does it stand for "AIC" valve? Thanks!!!!

 

It's IAC - Idle Air Control valve.

It helps regulate the amount of air entering the engine at idle.

 

Hey Thanks alot Man....I think mine is malfunctioning due to shut off's after start up. Read on another thread someone else had the same problem. Again THANKS!!!!

 

On the 5.4 engine it's on top way in the back.

 

No problem.

Mine was making an intermittent hum at idle, even thought the truck idled fine. Was just annoying. I cleaned it, and it did great for a day, then hummed all the time when slowing down close to idle, and at idle. Replaced it, and all is good.
