you need to change the gear at the end of the speedo cable that goes into the transmission a dealer or 4x4 shop should have the different size gears for your setup in stock. or follow a car have the driver of the car go up to freeway speed and note where your speedo reads so you know where freeway speed is. changing the speedo gear is a fairly simple job
Unless you have VSS. Look for a wire coming out of the rear diff. If it does you have VSS (vehicle speed sensor). It uses a ring in the diff to measure speed. You will need to recalibrate the computer at the dealership, or I belive superlift makes a module that you can use to do this.
Yes, there is an ABS sensor coming out of the top of the rear differential, theres a plug at the top. If you that, you have an electric speedometer and you can calibrate it yourself. Do a search for "speedo calibration" and you will dig up all the info you need, including directions, on how to recalibrate your speedo by urself. But, thats only if its electric. If it's a cable, you will need to do what he said above. All the dealer does is do a simple thing that you can do yourself, while charging you 50 or so dollars to do it. Its easy and you can do it yourself instead of letting the dealership do it.
If ur going to recalibrate your speedo, do what i said, do a search under "speedo Calibration" on this website and you will find the instructions on how to do it.
