losing about 3 mpg!!!!!

I beleive i'm having egr cooler problems or head gasket problems. Could this contribute to a severe loss in economy.

Need more details

Most SuperDutys don't have EGR systems.

I'm assuming with head gaskets and egr cooler he has a 6.0 PSD.

So go pop the hood, and look for white residue over the degas bottle..... basically look for white junk everywhere where it shouldn't be splattered all over the engine directly in front of where the driver sits. It's an almost sure fire sign that this is what's going on

thanks for the help fellas. I had the egr and oil cooler changed last year, but I think it is happening AGAIN...

It's also that time of year that they're distributing winter blend fuel. I usually drop 2-3 mpg on both of my PSD trucks in the winter. Hopefully, that's all that's "wrong".

REMEMBER, anything that causes excess friction will affect fuel economy. You don't say what year your ride is or how many miles are on it, but worn bearings, ujoints, etc. Dan.
