So go pop the hood, and look for white residue over the degas bottle..... basically look for white junk everywhere where it shouldn't be splattered all over the engine directly in front of where the driver sits. It's an almost sure fire sign that this is what's going on
I beleive i'm having egr cooler problems or head gasket problems. Could this contribute to a severe loss in economy.

It's also that time of year that they're distributing winter blend fuel. I usually drop 2-3 mpg on both of my PSD trucks in the winter. Hopefully, that's all that's "wrong".
REMEMBER, anything that causes excess friction will affect fuel economy. You don't say what year your ride is or how many miles are on it, but worn bearings, ujoints, etc. Dan.
