If you do a search there is a write up with pictures on how to do this. It's a start. Otherwise, I would suggest you include some information on what your truck is and why you think you now need one so perhaps some of these guys can give you some good advice. The more info they have to work with the better the advice will be. I have never done one personally (have seen it done with column on the bench but not in vehicle), but am curious what responses you get because I suspect I will need to do one on my 95 in the spring. Good luck.
I know I need one.My friend did the ignition switch. He had the whole column apart. When I went to drive it,the stearing wheel got tight, something snapped and is loose and ratelling in there and the airbag light is flashing. He must of turn it one way or the other, and then I turned the truck MORE that way. They are only supposed to turn like 2 or 3 turns to one way.He has been hitting the sauce lately and can not be trusted anymore. He is (WAS) a good friend and mechanic, but latly drinks his lunch and does not eat.I posted this last weekend, and got a bid of 300 to do.The part is 75.00.Thats why I want to try and do it.Thanks
Yup, mine is not working either, but all I think I have to do is connect a small wire with a grey plastic clip and it should work, but I haven't found where the stupid thing goes, maybe that's what's missing. Roadrunner, did you see anthing like that on yours? It's one short wire with a grey clip a bit half moon shaped, any help is appreciated. Thanks! Oh, I have a 95.
No there is more to it than that.Look up the part on oreillys websight or any local auto part websight and look at it.I am buying the part for 68.00 and paying someone 50 to put it on.
