I have an early 1999 ford f-350 7.3 that keeps throwing a code 0475 - I believe I replaced it once before. Any idea were it's located. To make sure If I replaced it. If I did why is it going bad again. How to fix it. Came on when it was cold. Thanks for any help.
P0475 is Exhaust Pressure Control Valve Malfunction. This code typically pops up when people unplug the electrical connector on the front of the turbo pedistal, or when they completely delete the EPBV. That connector controls the actuator to the EBPV. If it's unplugged, the EBPV will no longer function, and stays open permanently.
If you have not intentionally disabled the EBPV, or if you have not deleted it, then I would suggest checking under the turbo at the pedistal and see if the wire came loose or unplugged.

It located just to the left of your heater hose that goes vertical into the water pump. When you replaced it, you also need to clean the steel tubing from the sensor to the exhaust manifold (to the front of the passenger side exhaust manifold). I find it easier just to remove pipe and clean it..
